Project Details

My name is Jade Vasquez. I am a Youth Development volunteer for Peace Corps El Salvador. I live in small rural village named San Francisco Apanta that has many gifted and active children. Apanta is a very resilient town, known for its struggles caused by war, gang violence, and mass migration. However, the people in my community are some of the warmest most welcoming individuals I have ever met. Many parents expressed to me in my first few months how important it is to a have safe space where their children can play. In 2009, the community's local government bought the land they hoped to build a playground on. However, due to lack of resources, Apanta has stalled its construction for nearly 5 years. Please help me fund this fabulous project so parents and teachers can see their children and students' face light up and develop in many ways they never imagined possible!
