Qholaqhoe Primary School Playground

Project Details

The teachers of Qholaqhoe Primary School in Lesotho are working to bring a playground to the school! They are working with an American Peace Corps Volunteer to organize, plan, and construct a playground on the school grounds. Lesotho is a small country completely surrounded by South Africa. It is a beautiful, mountainous country. Qholaqhoe is a rural village with limited access to resources. Kids have little exposure to creative activities.

The teachers of the school initially approached the volunteer and asked if he could help with the construction of a playground. The volunteer searched for plans and came across playgroundideas. Meetings were held with the school administration and parents of the school. They were made aware of the responsibilities of the school and parents. They agreed to construct the equipment with the help of said directions. Currently, the volunteer is working with playgroundideas and peace corps to organize construction and funding.
