Project Details

After the earthquake, the recent civil war and diverse embargoes by Indian neighbors, Nepal has had extreme difficulties to regain stable footing for the education sector among others. We are slowly regaining our bearing after losing over 65% of our students and will slowly re-establish our educational presence in our community. We are planning for expansion into vocational training and sports, to be added to our academic schedule that includes pre-school to class 10. We are in dire need of funds and teachers, because our students all come from disadvantaged backgrounds, where the families have lost their ancestral lands and community status, having been forced by circumstances to move from rural areas to Kathmandu in order to survive. What this means is that our income is below our expenditure and thus we operate at a loss. Mind you, we cannot sacrifice the children's education due to circumstances without serious effort on our part to make things work.
