Beautiful Beginnings Fundraiser
Beautiful Beginnings is a Preparatory School which embraces early childhood education for every child with no discrimination. The vision and end goal is to have a tuition based school that can make a profit to help fund a charity program called Open Arms. The project Open Arms has been started to provide children of migrant labourers an opportunity to learn and play, since they have no ability to attend school, while they live on construction sites. Our dream is to build a playground which is safe and a creative space to inspire children whether enrolled in the prep school or living a marginalized life within our community.

Dehra Dun is the capital city of Uttarakhand in North India. In the past decade many multiplexes, malls and apartments are on the rise. This has led to many job opportunities for unskilled laborers’ to swarm the valley as construction workers. Families are housed at the construction site in make-shift shelters. As the parents work during the day, the children are left to fend for themselves and the unsafe environment of a construction zone becomes their “playground”. They do not attend school, and their health and hygiene is often left unattended.
Project Vision:
Open Arms will provide a conducive environment for the children to…“Grow in wisdom, stature and in favor with God and man.” Have access to quality education, care and safe place to enjoy childhood playtime.

Values:
We recognize the potential in children as unique creations of God. There will be special emphasis on the girl child. In India it is the norm in economically weaker sections of society education is normally given to boys and the girl-child gets discriminated as in the future she marries and goes to another home so minimum of investment of any sort in time, energy, or finances.
