Project Details
Children on the Edge is a Child and community centre in the Soweto slum in Jinja. COTE offers early childhood education and primary age support as well as social work for the children of the Soweto area. On the site there is a building with a fenced area around it. The play area the currently use is very small but can be extended to other parts around the site. They also have some equipment already there which was bought locally and needs repair.
The budget for this project is very small and space is also limited. There are some elements we can repair onsite and others will need to be made of low cost materials. This area is very poor and the people do not have much hope for the future so elements that can help them to develop skills, role play different jobs and dream for the future are essential.
