EAST Wickes K-2 Playground Renovation

Project Details

I am a student at Cossatot River High School in the EAST program. We work to impact our community, state and even the nation in a long lasting beneficial way. My partner and I are in a project to renovate and replace a local K-2 playground that acts as the city playground for the surrounding town of Wickes, Arkansas.However it is a relic that has been standing for up to twenty years. The wood of its foundation is beginning to rot, and the plastic of the slides is covered in mold, mildew and dust. This poses a hazard to children but also to those with respiratory diseases. There is also a student who is bound to a wheelchair that cannot access our current set.
