Project Details

We are going to build a playground for a preschool and aftercare centre in Hammanskraal, Pretoria, South Africa. The centre was started by an administrator at a local church to assist vulnerable children and young adults in education, support and skills training. The area is very underprivileged and the centre has been given a space on an old rubbish dump to build what they can. They have some support in building and renovating buildings for the centre but the grounds are still full of rubbish and need a whole lot of work. Besides needing computers, clothing, toys etc. the facility would like a playground most of all. These children are lucky to be able to play in a dusty street and this would be a safe haven and a place to be children - learning to play, to exercise and to belong to a group. Items in order of priority; - Jungle gym - Other playground items like a see-saw etc. - Garden (grass, trees, decor)
