Project Details
One of the 3 playgrounds to be built during the second month of projects for EAP this summer. El Shaddi is in the suburbs of Jinja, Uganda, and is a small primary school full of enthusiasm to see the beginnings of their playground in July. The playground will be built by EAP's Ugandan team of builders and welders as well as student volunteers who have been recruited from the UK. The month-long project will see the construction of a range of designs that are currently being put together based on ideas, choices and plans that are the result of community consultations. Consulting and discussing plans with the community means that the play elements at El Shaddi will be well suited to the children and their own styles of play. The site is not too big, but the space will be used creatively to involve all kinds of play and activity.
