Play for Zindiro Pre-Primary Children in Rwanda

Project Details

In September 2017, Zindiro Pre-Primary School will open doors to children from one of the poorer areas in Kigali, Rwanda. This school project is part of the ambitious ECD programme of a local NGO to create a model for an ECD center Rwanda in terms of nutrition, education, play and even parents' involvement and education. Since play is a crucial part of early child development, the school will have a specifically dedicated area for an outside playground. This is where we, The Playground, come into play. We want to utilize local resources and materials to build playground elements suitable for pre-primary school children. Our ultimate goal is to gain experience in building, installation and maintenance of playgrounds with local resources and in a sustainable way, so that local communities, school and organizations are enabled to contunue doing that in the future autonomously. We are strong believers in the power of play and we have the firm ambition to make this play project become a reality and inspire more people to join our cause!
