Project Details

I am Jack Chung, the president of Mission Until Dawn(MUD) which is a university student initiated project under University YMCA in Hong Kong. Our mission is to build a Safe, Therapeutic and Enjoyable Playground(STEP) in developing countries, allowing the children enjoy their happiness that the ones in developed countries do. Meanwhile, we also hope our 'therapeutic' playground can enhance their sensori-motor and social-emotional development.

We have been to Sri Lanka, Cambodia and Nepal for site visit and plan to have our first STEP in Dehiwala, Sri Lanka as our as our starting point. Yet, it is a profession and expertise when comes with the design and construction of a playground. This is what we lack and we desperately need your help, in any form and in any way.

The MUD's dream is to leave our STEP in the developing countries of South Asia. We hope to establish two STEPs each year. Each STEP will recruit university students in Hong Kong as participants. So not only the children in the developing countries can be benefited, students in Hong Kong  can understand the importance of the playground to children's development and gains lots of experience through the project.

We know it is a difficult road. Yet, difficult roads often lead to beautiful destinations. Hope PLAYGROUND IDEAS and all of you can offer your help to make our dream come true. Thank you very much.
